Book Review: Haze by Paula Weston, Book Two of The Rephaim Series

My Review: *** I received this book in a LibraryThing Giveaway***

Once again Paula Weston has written a captivating story that revolves around the Angels, Rephaim, Demons, and the Humans that become get entangled in the life of Gaby Winters and her quest to find her brother Jude (if he's still alive). I love the characters, especially Rafa and his snarky attitude, and can't wait to see how they will continue to grow and change in the next book.

Of course, Weston had to end on a cliff hanger that will drive me insane and I hope that it's resolved in the next book or I just might scream. Can't wait to read what will happen next in the story. 4/5 STARS

It's sometimes hard to believe...

It's sometimes hard to believe the cruelty of some people in this world. Yesterday my cousin's best friend was found murdered in her home. She had been shot multiple times by an ex boyfriend who ended up taking his own life after a two hour stand off with the police. There is now two little girls who will have to grow up without their mother and a family and friends who will feel the loss of a loved one. Events such as these are just heart-wrenching.

Neglected....

My poor blog has suffered some great neglect these past few years, especially this year. My only excuse is that other items in my life have taken precedence of my time. I'm in my junior year of college and am currently working on my Level II courses in the Elementary Education program. I'm also helping to take care of my grandparents who have medical needs that require extensive assistance as well as helping to take care of my cousins' children who often feel like my own children. I've been assisting my aunt and cousin with their online clothing and jewelry store (you should check it out- I'll post a link at the end of this post) as well as their crafts for different boutiques that the attend. I work part time at a small cafe as well. My plate is quite full with the various jobs that I do, homework, and sleep which has resulted in the neglect of my blog. I've even been slacking with my reviews among other items that I used to blog about. I will try to post more often and want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday for the end of this year.

Until Next Time,

Shay

Quote: Inspired by George RR Martin

Be a Bibliobibuli, because as George RR Martin says: A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies…. The man who never reads lives only one.

I DID IT!!!

After two years of working hard, I graduated with an Associates of Science with an Magna Cum Laude honor. I am so proud of myself and I'm halfway done until I get to become an educator.

Book Review: Sharing You by Molly McAdams

My Review: When I first began reading, Sharing You, I wasn't so sure if this book was my cup of tea. I had struggles with accepting the fairytale quality of Brody and Kamryn's 'love at first sight'. It just didn't feel believable that they instantly had strong feelings for each other after knowing each other for all of two seconds and without saying a single word to each other.

I also had troubles with the hard breaks that happened throughout the book. I felt as if the author would be building up a good flow, only to break that flow by ending the chapter or switch POVs. The switch felt harsh and sometimes had me backtracking to make sure I didn't skip any pages. 4/5 STARS
