Book Review: Matched by Ally Condie

About the book: Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

My Review:  Imagine that something happened in the world that ended our choices. A society forms that chooses everything for you; where you live, where you work, who you'll marry, and how long you live. When life becomes a game of probability and chances of things occurring, what do you do? Especially when you find yourself wanting things that you shouldn't. Ally Condie has created a world in this book that is fascinating, and the real kick to it is that it could actually happen in the future. Her character Cassia goes through so many changes and has to make many difficult choices that don't just affect her, but all those around her. This book was outstanding and brilliant! 5/5 STARS
