Book Review: One Week Girlfriend by Monica Murphy

One Week Girlfriend (One Week Girlfriend Quartet, #1)

My Review: After receiving Second Chance Boyfriend from LibraryThing, I knew that I would have to read the first book before I could read the second (I'm not one to like to read books out of order).

First, I want to say that I love the book. Though I could predict a great portion of the story, Monica Murphy was still able to surprise me with a few twists that let me begging for more (good thing I already have the next installment of the story!).

Fable and Drew are characters that come from a raw, ugly background, and yet they are still endearing and captivating. I admire the compassion and kindness that Fable is filled with, despite her vulnerability and hardships that she lives with. The strength that she has to keep moving forward, despite the black waves that threaten to knock her down is inspiring. With Drew, I just want to wrap him in an embrace and never let go. The demons of his past are enough to break anyone's hearts, but he's still filled with kindness. These two are the star-crossed lovers who burn with a passion that threatens to destroy or save them from the ghosts that haunt them.

One Week Girlfriend is definitely worth reading. It's a quick-paced, hot, and captivating read that drew me in from start to finish. The ending is enough to drive me insane until I learn what happens next, but it's the price a reader pays when reading a good book: A cliffhanger that slowly drives you insane, but makes reading the next book ever so sweeter when you discover what happens next. Now I'm off to read Second Chance Boyfriend with the hopes that it will be as good as One Week Girlfriend or even better. :) 5/5 STARS

Book Review: The Fiery Heart (Book 4 of the Bloodlines Series)

The Fiery Heart (Bloodlines, #4)

My Review: NO! NO! NO! NO!!! Richelle Mead can NOT end The Fiery Heart that way! She can't! She can't! SHE CAN'T!!! Does she not care for my sanity at all?

Okay, mini rant over- mostly. The Fiery Heart is another superb novel from Richelle Mead. The story started out as a nice ripple that gradually progressed into a roaring tsunami that completely wrecked havoc on my psyche (okay, still ranting a bit) with an ending that is an ultimate cliffhanger that is sure to slowly drive me insane until Silver Shadows is released in July. Part of me is glad that I have been so busy with homework that I hadn't had much time to read the book, or I would have had to suffer so much longer.

I love the book and the characters. They have all grown so much since the beginning of the series. It was great to get inside Adrian's head and see things from his perspective. The struggles and hardships that Sydney and Adrian go through are remarkable and I envy the love and passion that burns brilliantly within them. The Fiery Heart is definitely worth a read, even with the cliffhanger that will slowly torture me. I can't wait to see how things will be resolved. 5/5 STARS

My apology....

For those who read my blog, I apologize for the absence of posts these last few months. I'm in my second semester of college and it was a very time consuming semester. I've have been helping taking care of my grandparents who have had some health issues and now need assistance as well. I also have been working to pay for my bills. For those reasons, I have not had much time or energy for anything else.
