Book Review: One Week Girlfriend by Monica Murphy

One Week Girlfriend (One Week Girlfriend Quartet, #1)

My Review: After receiving Second Chance Boyfriend from LibraryThing, I knew that I would have to read the first book before I could read the second (I'm not one to like to read books out of order).

First, I want to say that I love the book. Though I could predict a great portion of the story, Monica Murphy was still able to surprise me with a few twists that let me begging for more (good thing I already have the next installment of the story!).

Fable and Drew are characters that come from a raw, ugly background, and yet they are still endearing and captivating. I admire the compassion and kindness that Fable is filled with, despite her vulnerability and hardships that she lives with. The strength that she has to keep moving forward, despite the black waves that threaten to knock her down is inspiring. With Drew, I just want to wrap him in an embrace and never let go. The demons of his past are enough to break anyone's hearts, but he's still filled with kindness. These two are the star-crossed lovers who burn with a passion that threatens to destroy or save them from the ghosts that haunt them.

One Week Girlfriend is definitely worth reading. It's a quick-paced, hot, and captivating read that drew me in from start to finish. The ending is enough to drive me insane until I learn what happens next, but it's the price a reader pays when reading a good book: A cliffhanger that slowly drives you insane, but makes reading the next book ever so sweeter when you discover what happens next. Now I'm off to read Second Chance Boyfriend with the hopes that it will be as good as One Week Girlfriend or even better. :) 5/5 STARS
